Wondering where to invest on the ? Get acquainted with our investor’s guide and make a decision!

6 places that are worth considering when planning an investment on the Costa Blanca

According to official data from the website www.fomento.gob.es, in 2018 over half a million (582,888) real estate purchase and purchase transactions were carried out on the Spanish real estate market. Of this, 88 792 properties were bought in the Autonomous Community of Valencia. In our guide, we will focus on this region of Spain, and more specifically on the investment route along the Costa Blanca. Here are 6 places to consider when planning an investment in Spain.

Alicante

The investment in Alicante is an obvious choice for people who expect a quick return on invested capital, as well as for investors looking for a permanent flat with access to numerous entertainment. Alicante is a city extremely attractive in terms of tourism, which is also associated with a high demand for apartments and holiday homes among foreign travelers or students – Alicante is a frequent destination for tourists from the UK, Scandinavia or Germany. Therefore, investors who want to make the purchased property an additional source of income will certainly not be disappointed – in the holiday months, depending on the location, they can count on frequent renting of their property.

In 2018, a total of 7,070 properties were sold in Alicante. This means that the city is one of the most-chosen by investors on the Costa Blanca. It is not surprising! The guarantee of beautiful weather, a rich offer of tourist attractions, convenient location and, above all, extremely encouraging real estate prices – all this makes the investment in Alicante a perfect solution.

Benidorm

A very interesting place on the Costa Blanca investment map is also Benidorm – a resort with less than 70 thousand. permanent residents, attracting many foreign tourists year after year (the British are happy to spend their holidays there). The combination of buildings typical of metropolitan agglomerations with the irresistible charm of a seaside town makes Benidorm a unique place on the scale of the entire coast – perfect for holidays, but as current statistics show, also for investment.

The total number of transactions in 2018 reached the value of 2,240, thus exceeding last year’s result by 385 properties sold. Benidorm is so popular among investors, among others due to attractive price conditions and a wide range of offers of different types of real estate. The properties available for sale in Benidorm currently include:

  • apartments located on the seafront,
  • modern villas,
  • luxury penthouses,
  • single-family houses with a garden,
  • apartments in the city center.

In short, everyone can find property that is right for them in this location, regardless of their investment goal.

Santa Pola

Luxury apartments with a pool, spacious bungalows or apartments with sea views – all this and more can be found among the real estate offers in Santa Pola. The investment in Santa Pola is a perfect solution for people dreaming of a charming house or apartment on the Mediterranean Sea, but wanting to avoid typical tourist resorts. The town currently has a population of just over 30,000 people and is located a short distance from Alicante – just 12 km separates it from this entertainment city. The location of the village is certainly a positive value of offers available on the local real estate market. Santa Pola is not only a great starting point for holiday trips, but also an attraction in itself because of the beautiful beaches, the famous nature reserve and historic buildings. By investing here for a profit, you can expect great interest of tourists in your rental offer in the summer. If you want to use the purchased property in a different way – e.g. as a holiday home for yourself and your loved ones, we guarantee that you will be delighted with the typically Spanish climate of Santa Pola!

The situation on the local real estate market is as follows – in 2018, 1398 properties were sold in Santa Pola, i.e. 192 more compared to the previous year and 328 more compared to 2016. In recent years, the number of transactions has been systematically increasing. Importantly, the popularity of this city is growing among both investors and tourists. Do you need more arguments convincing that it is worth investing in Santa Pola?

Calp

Calp, like Santa Pola, is located in a quieter part of the Costa Blanca. However, this place is a kind of sensation – more than half of the people living permanently in Calp are foreigners! The local real estate market is thriving, as evidenced by the latest data – the total number of properties sold there in 2018 was 1032, compared to 2017 more than 97 transactions were carried out.

Are you wondering what Calp has in it that it is there that many visitors decide to live permanently? The climate of eternal holidays, numerous price opportunities appearing on the local real estate market and unique views – these are just a few reasons why you should invest in this place. Due to its calm, leisurely atmosphere, Calp is not only a great place for holiday relaxation, but also a great location to live in retirement. Crystalline sea, access to clean, sandy beaches and delicious Mediterranean cuisine – can you imagine better conditions for spending your retirement?

Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa is another town on the Costa Blanca, which provides fantastic conditions for investment and relaxation. In this city we will not experience the metropolitan atmosphere (the city has over 30 thousand inhabitants), which will be a huge plus for many tourists and investors. Future buyers will be interested in the exceptionally convenient location of the village – Villajoyosa is located about 32 km from Alicante and about 15 km from Benidorm. The proximity of large resorts definitely affects the attractiveness of the city and real estate offers.

756 properties were sold in Villajoyosa during last 2018. Compared to 2017, there was an increase in sales of 101 properties. You can also take advantage of the currently attractive investment conditions and become the owner of an idyllic villa, modern apartment or single-family house.

Altea

Altea is the smallest town in our ranking – but this in no way diminishes its investment potential. This charming city currently has a population of just over 20,000. people. Its huge advantage is the location – only 9 km separates it from Calp and 15 km from the entertainment Benidorm. It is true that Altea is not as popular as the resorts mentioned earlier, but the local real estate market is growing rapidly (633 residential properties were sold there in 2018) and is full of great price opportunities! Offers will be found both by investors looking for real estate in the usual standard and buyers who value luxury. People who love an intimate atmosphere and are looking for a holiday home or house in which they could live in the future should definitely decide to invest in Altea.

One thing is certain – the selection of offers in Altea is so rich that you can easily find the property you were dreaming about.

Abdominal muscle training – check out effective ways to get a flat stomach

A flat stomach is the effect of modeling and strengthening different parts of the abdominal muscles, using physical activity in the form of even carefully selected strength exercises. Currently, we have a choice of many types of training strengthening the abdominal muscles. Some of them promise visible results after a few weeks. If you are looking for a proven method for a flat stomach and you have a lot of self-denial to train regularly, you will certainly choose something for yourself from the following suggestions.

waist trainersAbdominal muscles can be divided into two basic groups – anterolateral abdominal wall muscles and posterior abdominal wall muscles. The first group includes the straight, oblique external and internal, transverse and pyramidal muscle. The second muscle group includes the trapezius muscle, the larger and smaller lumbar muscle, and the iliac muscle. Modeling and strengthening the abdominal muscles does not only include external muscles, but also muscles that are deeper. Muscles need a break to regenerate, so it’s worth doing workouts keeping one day break between each workout.

Not all ABS exercises are created equal in terms of efficiency in burning and reducing fat accumulated in the abdominal area. Finding and regularly performing effective belly modeling exercises is the key to success. Of course, in addition to regular training, it is necessary to use a properly balanced diet with reduced calories, but that’s already a topic for another article. The following abdominal muscles exercises are aimed at strengthening and modeling the abdominal muscles on each side.

Single exercises for different muscle groups

By choosing exercises for specific muscle groups, you can search the internet length and breadth and you will certainly find something suitable for you. An abdominal exercise program alone does not always bring satisfying results, but you have to start somewhere. The following exercises are examples of strengthening the oblique and straight abdominal muscles.

Lie on your back, raise your legs up and bend them at the knees. Put your hands behind your head, as you would with classic crunches, and then slightly raise your torso above the ground. Try to first touch your right knee by turning your upper body to the right and bringing your right knee to your right elbow. Return to the starting position and do 10 more reps. Repeat the exercise on the left side. This exercise activates the rectus abdominis and obliques. It also has a beneficial effect on thighs and buttocks. Exercise “bicycle” is one of the most effective exercises to strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles.

The second effective exercise to strengthen the oblique muscles of the abdomen and the rectus muscle is that the person exercising lies on his back with bent knees and feet laid on the floor. Hands should be loosely braided behind the head. Raise the torso, stop for 1-2 seconds, and then return to the starting position. Do 15-20 reps.

ABS exercise set from Mel B

The ABS exercise set developed by the singer Mel B in 2010 is part of her own program. The training consists of a dozen or so exercises that strengthen and model the muscles of the upper and lower abdomen, lower back muscles, oblique and transverse muscles. It is worth doing at least a 5-minute warm-up to avoid possible injuries. Mel B training is available for free on the web, both in text and video.

Scalpel – Ewa’s original program

Scalpel is probably the most popular and most popular set of body shaping exercises. Most exercises also affect the abdominal muscles. In addition, the third part of the training preceding stretching is devoted only to exercises that strengthen the abdominal muscles. Full training is available to watch on youtube. The effects of the scalpel exercise can be observed on forums and blogs of women who are satisfied with the results and present them in the pictures. Regular and accurate exercise of the exercises that make up this program allows you to see visible results after just 30 workouts.

Combination of Tabata training with abdominal muscles exercises

Tabata style training has proved to be a very effective way to lose weight and transform your entire body. If you use this method, you can get visible results without spending a lot of time training. Tabata style abdominal muscle training involves alternating intensive workouts with 20-second rest periods.

Tabata for strengthening and shaping abdominal muscles involves performing each exercise for 40 seconds, followed by 20 seconds of rest. To perform this type of training, a stopwatch or a special Tabata exercise app, light dumbbells and a mat will be useful.

Tabata ready abdominal workouts are available on youtube. Instruction helps to maintain the right pace of exercises and learn how to perform them correctly. Exercises used in Tabata training are known abdominal muscle modeling exercises that are performed at the right pace described above.

Less-known corners of Amsterdam

One of the first things I learned in Amsterdam was as far as possible from the center. The narrow streets of this city look romantic only in the pictures, in fact it is a constant dodging bikes, passing tourists or hugging the wall because a truck is passing by.

The second feature of Amsterdam is that it is undeniably a city famous for legal drugs and prostitution – a great magnet for tourists (all marijuana t-shirts, all the dirty shops!), But the locals don’t like it. If you don’t like it too, and you prefer to know where you can see authentic, normal Amsterdam called by the inhabitants of the “big village”, then follow me.

Begijnhof

The oldest yard in Amsterdam, although nothing has survived from the medieval tenement houses that once surrounded them – burned down during great fires in the 15th century. In Begijnhof only one wooden, black house survived and it is also the oldest in Amsterdam (from 1528).

Amsterdam Tours & Tickets

Begijnhof is a place where beginki lived before – pious women who did not want to be bound by religious weddings. The houses are inhabited only by women so far, there are 105 of them and form a small community. Although the yard is in the very center of Amsterdam, it offers peace and respite from the crowded shopping streets that surround them. Inside, you must not ride a bike, give tours or behave loudly – the residents make this place available because of its historical value, but you must respect that it is their home.

Jordaan

Together with our host from AirBnb, we recognized Jordaan’s best district in Amsterdam. It is full of beautiful shops (clothes, antiques, home decorations …), the most delicious restaurants and atmospheric streets worth getting lost. Without a doubt, here is “real” Amsterdam, not the one invented for tourists. It is also much calmer and allows for long, relaxing walks. The most popular part is the northern Jordaan, near Westerstaat Street, although it is not particularly beautiful and I recommend entering the streets departing from it.

The coolest places in Jordaan:

  • Noordermarkt – weekend market, one half of which is occupied by fresh vegetables and fruits, and the other – souvenirs, antiques and other curiosities.
  • Hutspot – a lovely shop with clothes and accessories. Local designers and high quality products.
  • Moeders – the famous restaurant serving dishes “like a Dutch mother”
  • Kessens – the best place for breakfast!
  • Japanese Pancake World – one of three places in Europe where you can try real Japanese okonomiyaki. And before that, watch the frying process and talk to the chef.
  • Bloemstraat – a quiet street with lots of very nice tenements, one of the prettiest places for a walk.

Brewers

Apparently the prettiest street in Amsterdam, which in my opinion is a distinction of a large caliber (because Amsterdam is all beautiful). The name comes from the breweries that were located here in the 16th and 17th centuries, on this street there were also a lot of warehouses with exotic goods imported to the Netherlands: leather, coffee, spices, oil … A great place regardless of the season and weather. Lots of pubs, including those that have tables above the water. Live not to die.

One block north of Brouwersgracht is Haarlemmerdijk, which is full of very original stores with clothes, accessories and decorations. Many shops belong to designers and designers from the Netherlands, so if you are looking for original things from Amsterdam, it’s best to start right there.

Oudemanhuispoort

Once a retirement home (hence the name), now the University of Amsterdam is located there, and right next to it is a covered passage with stands of book dealers. Definitely more pleasant in summer than in winter, then there are also the most bukinist positions. The books are in Dutch and English, you can also buy very nice, original lithographs for around 20-30 euros – great souvenirs from Amsterdam. Don’t ask me how to pronounce Oudemanhuisport, Dutch is out of my reach …

6 things you can do instead of smoking

According to Dr. Mercoli

If you are a smoker, research suggests that regardless of your age, quitting smoking can be extremely beneficial for you. For example, if you quit before the age of 40, you can avoid the over 90% risk of death from continuing to smoke.

If you quit before the age of 30, the benefits will be even more dramatic – you will avoid the 97% risk of death from smoking. However, even if you quit smoking later in life, you can still get impressive benefits.

New research has shown that smokers over 65 who quit smoking can reduce the risk of dying from heart problems in just eight years of quitting.
Six things you can do instead of smoking

If you want to quit smoking, please refer to the three steps (at the end of the article) that you should follow first. Once you’re ready, the following strategies, recently published in the TIME magazine, can help you at the beginning of your path:

Carrot Munch: Healthy snacks can help you overcome your craving for nicotine (and the need to put something in your mouth). Carrots, celery, radish, slices of pepper and other fresh vegetables are perfect.
Distract: Surround yourself with people who support you in your decision to quit smoking and who can help you stop thinking about smoking – buy snus.

“Shoot” want a cigarette. Put the rubber band on your wrist and “shoot” it every time you feel the desire for a cigarette. Light baking will draw your attention for a moment and give you time to remember all the reasons why you quit smoking
Physical activity. Exercise helps combat addictions, releasing natural endorphins and relieving stress and anxiety.
Take a shower. This is another reassuring activity, and when you feel clean and fresh, you will be less likely to reach for a cigarette.
Listen to the music. Listen to your favorite relaxing melodies or turn on music to dance to celebrate your new “smoke-free” self

Smoking causes one in five deaths

Nearly 44 million American adults (or 19 percent) smoke cigarettes, and smoking is the cause of every fifth death in the US every year, resulting in over 440,000 deaths annually. The good news is that it’s more than half what it was fifty years ago.

While smoking is traditionally recognized as the main cause of avoidable death, in fact excessive sugar consumption and reliance on conventional healthcare systems for health problems are far worse. Both of these behaviors are far more harmful than smoking.

However, the risk of smoking is obviously high and it is certainly better to avoid it. If you decide to quit smoking, I think it is wise to first improve your health so as not to risk falling into another addiction, such as consuming too much sugar as a substitute for cigarettes. However, when you stop smoking, you’ll notice some benefits immediately, and others within a few years:

Within 20 minutes of quitting smoking, your heart rate and blood pressure will drop
12 hours after quitting smoking, the level of carbon monoxide in the blood decreases and normalizes
Within three months after quitting smoking, lung function improves
Within nine months after quitting, the cough and shortness of breath will subside
Within one year of quitting smoking, the risk of heart disease is reduced, and the risk associated with cancer is halved in five years

Tobacco companies lure teens with candy-flavored cigars

Most flavored cigarettes have been banned since 2009, mainly because they tempted children with the smell and taste of sweets or fruit. Flavored cigars are still acceptable, however, and the tobacco industry cleverly produces flavored thin cigars that look like cigarettes.

A report by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently showed that more than two-fifths of high school and middle school students who smoke use flavored mini-cigars or flavored (menthol) cigarettes – and nearly 60 percent of them don’t consider quitting.

Teens are also switching to e-cigarettes

Although the number of teenagers smoking has dropped since 2011, consumption of other tobacco products has increased. An increasing number of teenagers use so-called Water pipes and electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), probably because they consider them a safer alternative to cigarettes.

According to a national youth tobacco survey conducted in 2012 by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2.8 percent of high school students tried e-cigarettes in 2012, compared to 1.5 percent in 2011. Sales of e-cigarettes are not regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and can now be legally sold to minors (although some states and cities have already banned such sales).

Apart from the fact that smoking electronic cigarettes may tempt young people to try something more, they are also a unique threat in themselves (one of the reasons is the content of nicotine). When you breathe in through an electronic cigarette, the battery heats a liquid containing a flavoring substance (such as tobacco, menthol, cherry, vanilla or java flavor), a humectant (usually propylene glycol or plant glycerin) and sometimes nicotine.

When you inhale, you get a “dose” of flavored nicotine without the chemicals usually produced when you smoke. However, the FDA has already detected a potentially deadly antifreeze called diethylene glycol in electronic cigarette cartridges and tobacco-specific nitrosamines that are associated with cancer.

Studies have also shown that the aerosol of a leading manufacturer of electronic cigarettes contains metals such as tin, copper, nickel and silver, silicate balls and nanoparticles with unknown but probably harmful health consequences.
Here’s what to do before you stop smoking

Studies show that two-thirds to three-quarters of former smokers quit smoking on their own, without help, so if you want to quit smoking, do it right away without stopping smoking gradually. However, I believe that the “secret” to success lies in taking care of your health first, which will make it much easier to quit smoking.

Physical activity is an integral part of this plan, and as studies show, people engaging in regular strength training are twice as likely to be successful in quitting smoking as compared to those who do not exercise. Eating well is another important thing that you can’t ignore. In short, if you want to quit smoking, here are some basic tips to help you:

Develop a sensible exercise plan. It will be your ally in the fight against disease and cigarettes. Strength training is very important, but also remember to include in your plan a high intensity interval exercise, such as the Peak Fitness program, core strengthening exercises, aerobic and stretching exercises.
Find a healthy outlet for emotions. Many people are helped by physical activity, meditation or relaxation techniques – all of these strategies are helpful. I also recommend getting acquainted with the Technique of Emotional Freedom (EFT), because it can help remove emotional blocks from the body (from which you sometimes do not even realize), thus restoring the balance of mind and body and helping to get rid of addictions and avoid the desire for unhealthy products.

If you smoke, I strongly advise you to stop smoking. You should also remember about astaxanthin, which helps prevent oxidative damage in smokers. This may be one of the ways that will help some extent to reduce some of the harms associated with smoking to people who do not want or cannot stop smoking.

Home = dreams + requirements – recipe for the purchase of windows part 2

The article is a continuation of the previous publication titled “Questions about PVC windows”, in which we pointed out that the number of sections chambers, type of glass and fittings are secondary issues, which, due to bad tradition, still play a leading role in the process of selling and buying windows. We know the true value of the window by the level of performance in relation to the most important window features defined by the product standard PN-EN 14351-1 + A1: 2010 and our needs.
Home – dreams

During the lecture at the TARBUD construction fair in Wrocław, I asked the participants where the construction of the house begins? There were various answers. For some it was the purchase of a plot of land for others, a foundation. These are not bad answers, but they do not take into account an important aspect in both life and construction. Emotions! In fact, building a house and even buying an apartment starts with … dreams. At the beginning there is a sigh: Ehh, it would be good to have your own roof over your head. Some will stop there, others will try to realize their dream and it is to them that articles about window questions are addressed primarily.

Dreams about your own home are inevitably accompanied by dozens of terms indicating what it should be like. Big or small? One-story or two-story? With or without a garden? With a black or red roof? White or colorful façade? Big or small windows? Blinds or shutters? When we organize everything, we get to the point. We choose the location and commission the project. With this order, we may have exaggerated, but more often we buy a ready project, adapting it to dreams and this is the first, but not the last construction compromise we decide on. Many investors approach the building design phase and the content and content of the project quite lightly, assuming that it is only a document necessary to obtain a building permit, and thus ensuring that our household meets the basic requirements arising from building law. Of course, the project should give such confidence and satisfy officials, but investors can not forget that it will also become a technical timetable for their … dreams of home!

For this reason, it should contain all requirements, even the smallest, which the future owner places on the object, i.e. the so-called object requirements. The better they are described and drawn, the more material and workmanship details in the design, the greater the chance that the dream train will go without delay and the journey will be comfortable. One of the stations on this trip are windows. They also deserve a decent description in the design, both from the point of view of performance and method of incorporation. In most single and multi-family house designs, the importance of windows, to put it mildly, is marginalized by designers. It is more or less like travel agencies sending you for a good fee for a road trip to a foreign country, instead of providing a road map only with a common geographical atlas. You will visit more than you want and how many adventures along the way!

Home – basic requirements

The basic requirements that must be met by every building object, including your dream home, result from the provisions of the construction law, specifically Article 5 (1) of the Construction Law. Due to the fact that in the near future there should be a change in the content of this article resulting from the implementation of further EU provisions into the Polish legal system, we present below the source provisions, Annex 1 to Regulation 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, which sets out in detail and explains the concept of basic requirements to be met by construction works.

“Construction works as a whole and their individual parts (including PVC windows acc. • safety of rescue teams was included.

3. Hygiene, health and the environment

In particular, construction works must be designed and constructed taking into account their accessibility for the disabled and their use by such persons.

5. Protection against noise

Construction works must be designed and constructed in such a way that the noise perceived by persons occupying them or in the vicinity of these objects does not exceed the level posing a threat to their health and allows them to sleep, rest and work in satisfactory conditions.

6. Energy saving and thermal insulation

Construction works and their heating, cooling, lighting and ventilation installations must be designed and constructed in such a way as to maintain a low level of energy required for their use, taking into account the needs of persons occupying them and local climate conditions. Construction works must also be energy efficient and use as little energy as possible during their construction and demolition.

Please note that this is the second article on PVC windows, in which we do not refer to the number of profile chambers, windows, fittings, at the same time, and at the same time we have come to a place where each window can be reasonably and in practical terms compared with the competition window, and above all, you can confirm its usefulness and the possibility of using it in our dream home.

Do you remember the dilemma of the participant of the window forum described in the article “Questions about PVC windows”? Two companies presented him with an offer for the purchase of windows made of sections with the same number of chambers, from exactly the same variety of sections, with the same glass, fittings, and offered similar assembly technology. How was he supposed to choose the better one? According to him, probably by drawing lots. If this forum member already knew as much as our readers now, he certainly would not have had to draw a draw and certainly talked differently with the bidders. Without going into unnecessary component complexities, he would immediately ask about … the level and class of individual functional properties of the windows and balcony doors offered to him. What would that give? Some important information! First, he would discover that windows made of the same components are not the same and are not similar in terms of usability. Secondly, he would find out which of the companies is researching more, and thus knows his product in terms of technical performance. Thirdly, he could choose products that better meet his expectations, requirements and needs, inscribing in … dreams of home in all respects safe, quiet, healthy, comfortable and energy-saving. Is this a better way to choose windows than counting chambers in profiles? Is this not a better recipe for selling windows?

Home – object requirements

When building a house or planning to replace windows, it is not said that when buying the most expensive windows, we buy the best, and when buying the cheapest, we buy the worst possible. When building a house or replacing windows, we should look for windows that will allow the building to meet all basic requirements, and at the same time meet the object requirements established by us for the company with the designer. In other words, they will fulfill our dreams while being in full compliance with applicable regulations. The investor’s object requirement for windows is nothing more than a statement: Windows in my home are to have such and such features (essential characteristics) at this and such level. End of story. I pay for such windows and I want such windows. Now you say, well, with these features it is already clear, and how to determine their level? How to determine the level of performance of windows for your homes about this already in the next article titled: “Questions about PVC windows. How many windows in a window – a recipe for buying windows part 3 “.

From resocialisation to therapy

What is the secret of a rigid separation into the therapy of alcoholic and narcotic disease, into centers exclusively for alcoholics and only for drug addicts? A rather absurd chapter, because about 60% of the current patients of the Narcotics Center in Pławniowice are also addicted to alcohol – addiction recovery online.

Pławniowice is a small town between Gliwice and Strzelce Opolskie. Just behind the village, in a renovated building, which was once the seat of the forest district, there is a new, large center. Located on a hill, by the old oak alley leading into the woods, surrounded by an orchard and garden, it creates a picturesque corner. The full name is Provincial Center for the Treatment of Addicts. Drug addicts are treating here, but at least 60% of them are also addicted to alcohol.

I first came across the concept of psychological addiction mechanisms in 1991. Even then, taking into account certain, not so great, specific differences, such thinking about addiction, although created for the use of alcoholism, seemed to me well describing what is happening with drug addicts (then they were mainly heroinists).

Together with the band, we were learning to name things over again. There was a lot of naivety, simplification and optimism. But there was also the joy of a language new to us, one that can be talked about addiction without resorting to confused definitions, unclear and vague hypotheses or theses.

online rehab services

We were amazed to discover such obvious things as the fact that relapses are part of addictions, so far we have almost always treated them as our failures, that diagnosis is not a necessary evil, but something that can significantly help both the therapist and the patient. It was then that the client became a patient for us and the family someone important in therapy. We discovered the importance of the Twelve Steps AA and AN.

We later went a long way in our own training. Today, I assess it as a path from social rehabilitation to therapy, from thinking about drug addiction as a character defect, weak will or “ethical collapse”, to treat it as a disease. Initially timidly, and later with exaggerated zeal at times, we implemented what we learned during training and internships from therapists working with alcoholics and their families. Some procedures or diagnostic questionnaires (especially for OPT) had to be “translated” so that they fit the specificity and color of narcotic addictions more.

Today, I am deeply convinced that the differences between alcoholism and drug addiction are not as great as it might seem at first glance. Such thinking results more from stereotypes, from the lack of comparative experiences, from the mythology that has accompanied drug users for many years, than from real facts. The same applies to therapy.

PVC windows – a guide for those choosing plastic windows

Properly selected window frames will effectively protect our home against heat loss and noise coming from outside. Plastic windows have become a standard solution among Poles. In this article, we answer if PVC windows are a good choice for our home. We also check what influences the price increase of plastic windows.

Plastic windows are distinguished by excellent technical parameters. They are resistant to weather conditions and chemicals. Thanks to their extraordinary durability, they will serve you even for 40 years. Properly installed PVC windows are characterized by exceptional tightness, which is why it may be necessary to install diffusers in non-ventilated rooms that ensure adequate air circulation. When choosing plastic windows you won’t have to worry about their maintenance. It will be sufficient to carry out simple care treatments – double vs triple glazing

In addition to technical parameters, PVC windows are characterized by an interesting appearance. Although we still associate plastic windows with the white color of the frames, the manufacturers’ offer includes a wide range of colors that we can adapt to our own needs.

When should we order PVC windows and window dimensions

Plastic windows should be ordered when we are planning to start finishing works soon. To avoid theft, it is recommended that they be transported to the construction site just before assembly. If you want to replace PVC windows in a block, then you can buy them at any time.

If the house is new, it is worth reaching for a project in which the sizes of each window will be determined. It is also necessary to measure the holes, because sometimes their dimensions differ from those specified in the house design. Before buying windows, you should consider whether the included dimensions and shapes of the windows meet your expectations. Problems with determining the dimensions of the plastic window will not have people who are planning to replace the window. Then just select a product with dimensions that match the PVC windows in the room.
Plastic windows – what should you remember?

An important factor to keep in mind is the number of chambers for window profiles. The more chambers, the better the window insulation parameters. Three-chamber window profiles have become rare. Profiles with five or eight chambers are becoming an increasingly common solution. Equally important is the profile class. The highest class marked with the symbol A has the largest thickness of the outer walls and the width of the inner chambers. Choosing plastic windows with class A profiles, you can be sure of their high durability, stability and protection against atmospheric conditions.

Particular attention when choosing window joinery is worth paying attention to the seals, which are used to ensure water tightness, heat loss and noise protection. The most commonly used plastic windows are gaskets made of rubber (EPDM) or a mix of EPDM and PVC (TPE). The greater the thickness of the gasket, the better the performance parameters of the PVC window. In plastic windows you will find resistance and glass gaskets. They can be supplemented with an additional gasket, which will increase the thermal insulation of the window and better noise suppression.

Upvc windows

People who live on a busy street should consider choosing a plastic window that has soundproof windows. They are characterized by increased sound insulation, so you can be sure that it will effectively suppress sounds that come from outside.

The price of PVC windows is influenced by many factors. The cheapest to buy standard plastic windows in white. All additional options translate into a higher price of window joinery. If we decide on anti-burglar protection in the form of anti-burglary glass, then we can pay up to 50-150 £ / m2 more. Choosing self-cleaning glass, as the price list often indicates, we will have to pay extra 150 £ / m2. On the other hand, double-chamber glazing will be the expenditure of PLN 125 / m2. People who want higher sound insulation will reduce their budget by an additional £ 250 / m2.

Plastic window prices are also affected by non-standard fittings. When deciding on hardware with a brake in the door handle, we must reckon with the fact that the cost of joinery will be higher by 30 £. An additional cost will be even fittings with the function of gradual tilting.

The standard is a snow-white window frame and it will cost us the least. If we choose a different color, then the prices of the plastic window will be 10-30% higher. People who decide to buy PVC in a shape other than rectangular, will pay more for this type of window joinery.

New addictions

If you rely on common beliefs in society, you can be addicted to everything. From cosmetic treatments to crocheting. So where do innocent pleasures end and a serious problem begins? Can you get addicted to sunbathing, cell phone, internet and shopping?

The problem associated with all addictions is the compulsion to give in to specific habits or behaviors. Initially, in order to get pleasure, with time rather to counteract the discomfort arising from the so-called withdrawal syndrome. This is not a compulsion that can be combated, e.g. by focusing on other interests. The brain, accustomed to receiving certain stimuli, demands them with persistence that prevents normal functioning. Everything, literally everything, evokes associations with the subject of search. Symptoms occurring in withdrawal syndrome are the reverse of those experienced “under the influence”, so instead of previous euphoria, irritability, anxiety and fatal mood appear, often leading to loss of control – addiction treatment in Cape Town.

Then all harmful effects are insignificant, the only goal is to get this something. Dresses, steroids, orgasm, new emails. Over time, the needs increase (the phenomenon of tolerance) and buying one dress may not be enough to make you feel great. Whether a person is addicted or not is determined by many variables, e.g. genetic predisposition, family experience, circumstances and a number of other environmental factors. In addition, the addictive potential of a given substance, individual psychological resistance, having healthy defense mechanisms and ability to cope with stress (constructive release of tension) are important.
Two schools of addiction

One says that any substance or activity that modifies your mental state is addictive. Proponents of this approach not only alcohol, but also coffee or tea are considered dangerous psychoactive substances. The second school says that the term ‘addiction’ is used unreasonably in the case of simple substance abuse. According to them, withdrawal syndrome or tolerance do not determine addiction, because there are physical (perceived by them as pseudo-dependence) and chemical addictions. Network hololism It is estimated that 6 to 14 percent of internet users are affected. Studies have shown that this addiction can manifest itself differently, depending on whether the person is more willing to spend time on social networks or persistently looking for information. Other typical areas of activity are: chats over the internet, virtual games (e.g. Second Life), virtual gambling, pornography, permanent e-mail exchange, blogs or hacking. Treatment is difficult, if only because netoholists prefer virtual contacts rather than direct contacts.

In addition, ( Recovery Direct in South Africa ), the requirement of total Internet abstinence today is able to prevent or significantly impair professional life. For this reason, therapy usually aims to change the way you use the internet. It can be helpful to install an alarm in your computer that enforces keeping to a detailed schedule of the day, using the computer with loved ones, with breaks, saving all your activities and time spent on them, exercising, relaxing, talking about problems with loved ones, extending breaks, etc. Boosters In the last The number of substances and impulses leading to addiction has increased significantly for 30 years. Today’s users come from all social strata, and the age of the first drug experiments is also decreasing.

Cannabis is destigmatized and year after year there are more and more proponents of its legalization. The decrease in interest in “classic” drugs is accompanied by a fascination with their substitutes, such as legal highs and some drugs. The widespread interest in paranotics (afterburners), which are tested on consumers, is worrying, although in some cases their use is associated with the need for medical intervention. Contrary to the producer’s assurances, they are not based on traditional herbal blends, yet they are still obtainable, and their users are not aware of health threats, or consciously ignore them.

Meanwhile, pure drugs are fiction. After examining the amphetamine offered on the market, it was found that 70-73 percent of the portions are fillers such as flour, ground glass, talc or strychnine. It is similar with legal highs.

Unfortunately: often artificial, i.e. narcotic, stimulation of centers in the brain gives stronger and faster effects than natural (e.g. endorphins after running).

Workaholic

Workaholism (about 5 percent of the population) is the only addiction that enjoys respect and respect from the public. It is commonly associated with diligence, commitment to a career and professional success. For an addict, work is a recipe for reducing anxiety and tension, and at the same time a way to increase self-esteem. As a perfectionist, he is never entirely satisfied with the results of his actions. One of the first symptoms of workaholism is a loss of sense of time. As a result, overtime is extended, and promises made to loved ones have no chance of being fulfilled. The image of a Polish workaholic who emerges from research, shows a person spending more than earns, for whom money is very important, experiencing chronic stress, which he cannot constructively discharge. Her long hours spent at work or constant thinking about her do not always translate into effects.

In every work there are situations that require staying after hours. Fears should be raised when someone thinks about work obsessively, regardless of where they are or their activities, their functioning is worse in the family, and leisure and any non-professional activity is a waste of time. The Japanese have two terms to describe the extreme version of workaholism: karoshi (death from overwork) and karo-jisatsu (work suicide). The conducted research indicates that the risk of karoshi increases in the event of too high requirements, a sense of little control over your own work and in the absence of social support.

Shopaholic

Marilyn Monroe used to say money didn’t bring happiness; just shopping. Many women confirm the truth of this statement, treating buying the best way of spending free time. The fact that shopaholism primarily concerns women is at least partly due to the social role that is attributed to the “fair sex.” From an early age, girls hear that a woman should “look” and be well-groomed.

In the case of ladies, these terms do not mean clean and tidy, because it is self-evident, but feminine and fashionable. And here the problem arises, because fashion changes quite often. Women most often feel compelled to buy items for beautification, such as clothes, cosmetics, shoes, and jewelry. Men also impulsively buy, except that the object of their desire is a different group of products – cells, laptops, cars or sports equipment. As ladies care about emphasizing the qualities of appearance, men, in a way by nature, strive to demonstrate power and prestige.

The main manifestations of shopaholism are: buying on impulse something that is not necessary, but regulates the emotional state, the inability to refrain from buying despite awareness of serious consequences, e.g. debt, and the need to hide from the loved ones the fact of purchase or its price.
Bigorexia (Adonis Syndrome)

This is a problem mainly for men. It manifests itself in excessive concentration on the appearance of the figure. Permanent sitting in the gym, supplements, diet, nutrients – the goal is any action that can result in an increase in muscle mass. Those suffering from bigorexia seem to ignore the fact that the muscle mass model is largely genetically determined and changes above certain parameters are impossible to achieve, even if you exercise a lot. Thanks to anabolic steroids and a proper (high-protein) diet, they try to achieve the perfect – in their opinion – figure. Some even opt for silicone muscle implants. Signals that may indicate Adonis Syndrome include, for example, notorious measuring yourself, very intense daily workouts, disturbed body image, problems with its acceptance, avoidance of people, neglect of duties.

orthorexia nervosa

It comes from the Greek word ortho – correct and orexis – appetite. It comes down to being obsessed with a healthy diet based on the highest quality products. Ortorektyk has his “only right” ways to produce, prepare and even consume food. Any nutritional compromises are out of the question. Rather, he will give up participation in an event where, he supposes, unhealthy snacks will be served, rather than risk eating something inappropriate.

As a result, he either tries to impose his eating beliefs on others, resulting in conflicts, or stays mainly in his own company, reconciling himself with isolation. Treating more than seriously the requirement for healthy eating and a good knowledge of nutrients, calories etc. do not mean that the orthoretic diet is properly balanced. The elimination of any products potentially containing harmful ingredients (such as improvers, pesticides or preservatives) from the menu significantly depletes the diet, causing serious deficiencies. everyone who, as a result of internal coercion, devotes many hours a day to planning and preparing meals, constantly analyzes health fitness, putting food quality over taste and pleasure in every case, and restaurants are evil.
tanning addiction

Tanning addiction. For a person suffering from tanorexia, pale skin means unhealthy and unattractive at the same time. The logical consequence of this belief is going to the beach or to the solarium to get a beautiful golden skin tone. Over time, the frequency of visits to the solarium increases, as does the time spent sunbathing. To convince a tanoreticist or tanorektyka that he is sufficiently tanned borders on the impossible, because such people have a distorted image of their own body. The effect is excessively dry and prematurely aged skin. Although there have long been warnings about the relationship between skin cancer and sunbathing (US studies say 90 percent of this type of cancer is due to excessive exposure to harmful radiation), tanorectics do not acknowledge them.

Chocolate connoisseurs say that it helps them function more efficiently, prevents hypoglycemia, and increases the culture of dendrites. At the beginning of the 18th century, when chocolate arrived in Poland, it was considered a broad-based medicine. She was supposed to help with rheumatism, sleep problems, throat, rheumatism, potency and even cholera or dysentery. Over time, its heavenly taste was appreciated, but the high price (400 grams cost as much as 12-20 liters of good quality vodka) reserved a drink for a small group of aristocrats. According to scientists, when eating chocolate, the same area is activated in the brain as in the case of addiction, i.e. reward system. Research indicates that the cause is probably the psychostimulatory effect of methylxanthines, which contain cocoa beans. The transition from occasional sweet snacks to systematic replacement of meals with chocolate and situations in which malaise, irritability and lack of energy (intensified to the extent that hinders social roles) pass almost immediately after eating a chocolate bar should be worrying.

Addictions or obsessions?

Some authors propose to consider bigorexia, orthorexia or tanorexia in terms of obsessive compulsive disorder, but many believe that giving them the official status of addiction is only a matter of time. Problems with self-diagnosis They result from a number of defense mechanisms that affect the way events are interpreted, becoming the source of many cognitive errors. Therefore, in case of suspicions, it is best to visit a specialist who, based on the interview, tests, family history and psychological conversation, will assess: whether and to what extent the problem of addiction concerns us.

How to choose an e-cigarette? Is it worth buying? What is the best?

More and more smokers are choosing to buy an electronic cigarette. We suggest what model to choose.

An electronic cigarette is a device that replaces the traditional way of smoking. This method is considered to be less invasive, both for the smoker and his environment, into which less nicotine vapor enters. The e-cigarette consists of two parts; from the battery and from the cartridge or clearomizer.

Older e-cigarette models had cartridges with a wad of water that had nicotine-containing liquids dropped onto them. In newer models, however, clearomizers are used, i.e. special units equipped with a heater, liquid container and mouthpiece. Clearomizer is filled with liquid to the desired amount and screwed to the battery. By pressing a special button, the nicotine liquid is heated and produces steam. The construction of an e-cigarette is simple and its entire operation consists in supplying electricity to the heating unit that heats the liquid. By pulling the resulting steam to the mouth, the smoker supplies himself with nicotine dissolved in the cloud. The liquid that replenishes the e-cigarette is a liquid mixture of dissolved nicotine and propylene glycol or glycerin, and sometimes both of these carriers.

Vawoo

By smoking an e-cigarette you will definitely feel an improvement in your breathing capacity. Each ordinary cigarette has over 4,000 carcinogens that are the result of burning. In the e-cigarette, combustion does not occur, and all its composition is only pure nicotine, flavors and glycerin or propylene glycol.

What e-cigarette for a beginner e-smoker?

Switching to an e-cigarette is not easy. Many people abandon this device because it does not meet their expectations. Meanwhile, the problem is mainly due to the fact that we bought the wrong e-cigarette. Which parameters are worth paying attention to?

construction of the device – good equipment should have, above all, a simple design so that unscrewing and filling it with liquid does not cause a problem. The clearomizer must be capacious, preferably between 1.6 and 2 ml. This amount is enough for a full day of smoking and depending on the strength of the liquid will correspond to one or two packs of cigarettes.

battery – an exhausted battery does not allow us to smoke, and a long charging time can cause that we will reach for a regular cigarette. The battery should have a capacity of about 1300-1500 mAh, which will allow us to use it even for 2 or 3 days on one charge. The frequency of battery charging depends on the frequency of using the e-cigarette. The more often we reach for it, the sooner the battery power will run out. Therefore, make sure that it is as light as possible.

quality of the e-cigarette – the clearomizer should be made of good quality plastic or tempered glass. Ordinary glass clearomizers may break when they fall. Similarly in the case of a battery housing – it should be a solidly finished construction. Any cracks or loose connections can make him quickly refuse to obey.
The question is often asked: which e-cigarette brand is the best? Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer to this question. However, we can assume that the best solution is to buy an e-cigarette from well-known and respected brands, e.g. Mild, Volish or Provag.

Common questions about e-cigarette

1. How do you charge an e-cigarette?

Each set with an e-cigarette comes with a special charger that is screwed to the battery. The batteries on the market have two types of threads: threads 510 and 610. The battery can only be charged with the charger from the set or one with the right type of thread. After screwing the charger with the thread the battery pin touches the charger pin and in this way energy is transported. Charging is usually indicated by a diode on the charger or battery or both diodes at the same time. If the LED is red, the battery is charging, if it turns green, it is fully charged. The time required to charge the battery depends on its capacity and usually lasts from 2 to 5 hours. If you want to use an e-cigarette during this time, you should buy an additional battery or buy a set that consists of two e-cigarettes: vape marketplace.

2. E-cigarette is bubbling – what to do?

Bubbling e-cigarette is usually associated with flooding the air channel. Each clearomizer has a thin tube in the middle, so-called air duct. If we fill this channel with liquid, the air will not have proper circulation and the liquid will flow onto the battery pin. In this situation, unscrew the clearomizer from the battery, blow it onto a tissue on both sides and thoroughly wipe the battery pin and clearomizer pin.

The last of the very common causes of bubbling is a clearomizer leak. If the e-cigarette is bubbling, check that the clearomizer has not come out of the metal ring at its base. If there is a gap there, we need to press the clearomizer into the ring.
Warning!

Occasionally, bubbling is associated with a skew of the clearomizer stem. In this situation, it should be straightened so that it is arranged vertically to the mouthpiece. If it sticks out in either direction for him, air may come in, causing bubbling.

3. What e-cigarette for a heavy smoker?

Compulsive smokers are accustomed to delivering large doses of nicotine and sometimes using an e-cigarette may not satisfy them. Lack of satisfaction from vaping (smoking an e-cigarette) is caused primarily by a wrongly selected liquid for an e-cigarette. Liquids have specific potencies, from 0 mg nicotine to even 24 or 48 mg nicotine. A heavy smoker should first of all buy a capacious e-cigarette with a strong battery and choose a strong liquid. It is recommended to start with a content of 24 mg, which is strong enough to correspond to a packet of “red” cigarettes. As you smoke, you may feel that this liquid is too strong and reduce its strength to 18 mg, and over time to 12 mg. Over time, some smokers increasingly lower their powers until they reach a liquid with zero nicotine content.

4. Can an e-cigarette be smoked in a public place?

Currently, e-cigarette is classified as a medical device. You cannot smoke in public places and e-cigarettes do not belong to them. Until the Act on Tobacco Products is amended, vaping e-cigarette in such places is allowed. Unfortunately, you have to reckon with the fact that it can cause resistance from bystanders who are not always aware of what an e-cigarette is. Most of them identify steam with smoke and they can veto if we use an e-cigarette with them.

Buying an e-cigarette can be a really sound and positive decision for our body. Smoking it will quickly restore our taste and the possibility of deep breathing.

5. How to replace liquid in an e-cigarette?

Fluid level control is extremely important – if the amount of liquid in the clearomizer is too low, the heater may burn. It is worth remembering to constantly control the device and keep the fluid level at approximately na height. The method of changing the liquid depends on the model of the device, so you should read the instructions and follow the instructions contained in it. The replacement process will depend primarily on the location of the heater – on top heaters, the liquid is refilled after removing the mouthpiece. In turn, the bottom heater system requires pouring the substance from below.

Proven Tips To Aid In The Relief Of Acid Reflux

Acid reflux is a condition that can affect people from a variety of backgrounds. It is caused when the sphincter of the esophagus is weakened and the stomach acid gets stronger. Without intervention, the condition can cause a deterioration of health. Here’s some advice to decrease the chances of acid reflux.

Save your beverages for between meals, and skip them during. This can help you cope with hunger as you are going to be thirsty. Additionally, you will help to minimize the amount of acid that is produced.

Fatty foods no more! Fried chicken, pizza, chicken wings and potato chips are the enemy of the GERD sufferer. These foods cause your sphincter to relax, allowing the contents of your stomach, acid and all, to rise back up into your esophagus. Go for meals full of vegetables and lean protein instead.

Once you have eaten, exercising too soon after can definitely make your acid reflux worse. This is because you can force digestive acids upwards as you exercise. You should wait a minimum of an hour or two after eating before engaging in exercise activities.

Learn your trigger foods. When you know what foods or beverages cause you acid reflux, you can avoid them to keep your symptoms to a minimum. Some foods that often cause symptoms are foods that are fried, fatty, spicy and carbonated drinks. These are just some examples and what bothers someone else, might not bother you.

Does your voice crack now and then? If you have a hoarse voice, it could be caused by stomach acid rising into your throat. No, you are not getting a cold. It is acid reflux. Medications, altering your diet and staying upright after you eat could help you get your voice back. If the problem persists, see your doctor.

There are certain foods that trigger acid reflux. Therefore, it’s in your best interest to avoid these if possible. One example is chocolate. While dark chocolate doesn’t appear to be as bad as high-fat milk chocolate, they both contain caffeine and cocoa, which are both known to cause acid reflux.

Take over the counter antacids or acid relievers. These are very helpful in relieving acid reflux for a lot of people. If they do not offer you relief, talk to your doctor about a prescription for your reflux. They can also help relieve symptoms and work to heal your esophageal lining

When you are eating all of your meals, take your time and savor each bite. It is a good idea to put your fork down between each and every bite. This is a good way to stop yourself from overeating, which means a dramatic reduction in all of your acid reflux symptoms.

As stated earlier, many people get acid reflux. Due to a combination of increased acidity in the stomach and sphincter weakening, the condition arises and causes pain for anyone who gets it. Rather than letting acid reflux take its toll on you, you can prevent it from happening. Remember this article and eat in peace.
